Care tips for your mulberry silk masks

While you are busy protecting yourself, don't forget to protect your silk masks too! Whether you are considering of getting silk masks or already have one, the following tips can help you to extend the life of your silk masks.

Silk is a very delicate material, remember to always follow this guide to ensure your mask don't wear and tear faster than it should be!

 

Hand Wash Only

Step 1 – Use cold water and mild detergent/ your shampoo.

Step 2 – Soak your mask for 3 – 5 minutes. Do not soak overnight.

Step 3 – Gently rinse the mask after soaking.

Step 4 – Rinse well in new fresh cold water.

Step 5 – Gently squeeze out excess water. Do not wring it.

Step 6 – Hang it up to dry. Avoid direct sunlight.

 

Removing Stains

Step 1 - Prepare a few tablespoons of cold water in a container. 

Step 2 - Add the same number of tablespoons of lemon juice/ vinegar into container.

Step 3 - Test the solution on a small area (preferably on the inside of the mask) first.

Step 4 - Dab the stain with the solution using cloth/ cotton.

 

Tackling Creases and Wrinkles

  1. Wrinkles can be removed by steaming and ironing.
  2. Iron on low heat setting with a press cloth place on top of your mask.
  3. Do not iron on damp silk.
  4. Do not spray or wet silk while ironing. This may cause damage the silk and may leave permanent water stains.
